Capco Awarded ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Certificate


Grand Junction, Colo. (July 28, 2021) – Capco is pleased to announce that on June 7th, 2021, it
was awarded ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System certification by Orion
Registrar, Inc. ISO 14001 is an internationally recognized standard that sets out the requirements
for an environmental management system.

“Certification to the ISO standard serves as another demonstration to the community, to the
Grand Valley, and to the United States of Capco’s commitment to sustainability.” said Jeff
Purdy, Capco’s Environmental Coordinator Specialist. “We hold a high bar for ourselves to
continuously get better, and achieving this milestone was a team effort, not only of our
employee-led Environmental Committee, but also of every member of the Capco team.”

Prior to ISO certification, Capco’s commitment to environmental stewardship led it to already be
a voluntary member of the EPA’s WasteWise program and of Colorado’s Environmental
Leadership Program (ELP).

The EPA WasteWise Program is a voluntary federal initiative in which partners commit to
reducing waste, practicing environmental stewardship, and incorporate sustainable materials into
the management processes. These businesses demonstrate their industry leading management
systems by reporting annual metrics to the WasteWise Program and committing to a quantitative
reduction of their environmental impact.

The Colorado Environmental Leadership Program (ELP) is a voluntary program, within the
Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), designed to recognize and
reward organizations and businesses that demonstrate superior environmental performance and,
as a result, consistently operate at a level that goes beyond mere compliance with environmental

committed to preserving it for future generations. Tino Dennis, Capco’s Compliance, Health and
Safety Manager said, “Capco has a broad commitment to health, safety, and sustainability that
includes waste reduction, recycling, education, and community engagement. Our team members
regularly participate in efforts outside our facilities including recently supporting the Solar
Charging Station project at West Middle School.”
